This 3-hour course prepares students to use Trim, Plunge, and Table routers to perform detailed work on wood workpieces. Students will learn how to safely operate these machines for their most common use cases, such as edge finishing, pocket milling, profiling, and channeling. The course discusses the proper approaches to work-holding, grain evaluation, and some simple jigs. Students will leave with a fundamental understanding of the benefits and limitations of this process and toolset that will enable them to improve their woodworking repertoire. Materials included.
Important: Closed-toe shoes are required. No loose clothing. Hair must be securely tied back. Short-sleeve shirts are recommended.
Pre-requisite: You must be checked in on the mitre saw AND table saw prior to taking this class. Please contact us at least 4 days in advance if you are experienced with them and are not already checked in.
