Get your Nordic skis trail-ready and learn to keep them that way. In this hands-on intro, you'll work on your own Nordic skis while learning the basics of home waxing. You'll clean and inspect your bases, hot wax and scrape the glide zones, and choose and apply grip (kick) wax for the day's conditions. We'll also cover Nordic ski care, how to read temperature and snow to choose your wax, and how often your skis need attention. You'll leave with freshly waxed skis and the confidence to do it yourself at home.
Bring your own Nordic skis (classic, skate). $5 material fee.
Taught by Mia Shifrin from Maine West Project Play. A Bethel native, L100 certified cross-country ski coach who spent three years coaching Nordic athletes of all ages at Gould Academy. She’s passionate about helping skiers of every level build skills and confidence on the trails of western Maine.
