This class prepares students to use a robotic router to automate the cutting of materials according to a design made on the computer. Materials selection and fixturing, waste collection, and post-processing will be covered, as well as basic use of the digital tools to create Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) instructions sent to the machine. We’ll also touch on concepts related to optimizing tool paths and cutting tool selection.
Materials fee: $15 to be paid directly to the instructor.
