Wood Cutting 1
3-hour class - Monday, June 8th @ 6pm
Prerequisites: None
Materials fee: $15 to be paid directly to the instructor.
Course will give practical experience and teach you the skills necessary to pass safety clearance for the tools listed below:
Table saw
Miter saw
Learn to safely use the table saw and miter saw (AKA Chop Saw) in this class. You'll observe and practice the safe operation of both machines, practice crosscuts, ripping, and miter cuts. Use cross-cut sleds and other jigs on the table saw to accomplish a wide range of projects. Completion of this class grants you access to the table saw, miter saw, and bandsaw.
Every class purchase includes a Free Open Studio Pass to continue working on your project or put your new skills to use.
You will receive a Free Tool Test, which can be taken in the hour after class if time allows, or during the Free Open Studio Day included with your class purchase.
What to wear & bring
Closed-toe shoes
No loose clothing
Secure long hair
PPE provided - bring your own if you prefer
Earplugs
Eye protection
Dust masks
Gloves - vinyl gloves, nothing thicker for safety reasons
